The Montreal Beach Resort, formerly known as the Montreal Inn, is a staple in Cape May hospitality. Located at the corner of Beach and Madison Avenue in historic Cape May, the hotel will officially adopt its new name on April 11th, 2014.

Although the name of the hotel will be changing, the outstanding service guests have come to expect will not change at all. The Hirsch Family, owners of the hotel since its opening in 1966, are committed to making the Montreal a resort offering everything guests would expect from an incredible Cape May vacation.

“We’ve been part of the Cape May community for nearly 50 years, so we didn’t want to lose our identity,” said co-principal Larry Hirsch. “However, we wanted to demonstrate that we’ve grown up, and are offering the type of amenities and services you’d expect from a complete resort.”

Co-principal Joe Hirsch is enthusiastic about the recent changes. “We’re excited about becoming the Montreal Beach Resort. At the same time, we’re committed to maintaining our long-time tradition of treating customers like they’re members of the family.”

In addition to a name change, the resort also boasts recently renovated guest rooms featuring superior conveniences including complimentary high-speed wireless internet, large luxurious bathrooms, private balconies with panoramic views, LCD flat screen televisions and deluxe kitchen efficiencies.

Guests will be happy to indulge in the Montreal Beach Resort’s other deluxe amenities. The property not only features a large oceanfront pool and two sundecks, but is also located directly across the street from the beautiful Cape May beach.

Guests can bask in the sunshine at the Montreal Beach Resort’s exclusive Montreal Beach Club, featuring luxurious private cabanas, as well as beach service from the resort’s restaurant, Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille. Once guests choose the perfect spot, a beach attendant takes care of the rest.

In addition to providing beach service, Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests will enjoy spectacular oceanfront dining, a panoramic patio bar and an extensive collection of wine and beer. Harry’s famous happy hours with live entertainment are also a huge hit. Featuring modern cuisine with a nod to tradition, Harry’s has quickly become a favorite of visitors and locals alike.

The Montreal Beach Resort is also proud to introduce The Wine Cellar at Harry’s, previously called the Montreal Liquor Store. As the only beachfront liquor and wine shop in Cape May, guests will love the wide-ranging collection of wines from Cape May and around the world. The Wine Cellar also features a wide array of spirits, as well as domestic and craft beers.

The Montreal Beach Resort provides the perfect setting in the historic Victorian seaside community to visit many popular attractions including the Cape May Lighthouse, Cape May Point State Park, The Cape May Stage, Cape May Winery, Turdo Vineyards, the Cape May County Park and Zoo, the Cape May Bird Observatory, the Washington Street Mall and many more.

Founded by Harry & Sophie Hirsch in 1966, the Montreal Beach Resort is one of the premier resort hotels in Cape May, and one of only a handful of hospitality properties along the entire Jersey Shore to remain under the management of a single family.

“We know Harry would be pleased and proud of the changes we’re making,” said Jonathan Hirsch, Food and Beverage Director and third generation family member. “He always encouraged the staff and the family to push our boundaries, and try new things to make the customer experience even better.”
