Cape May is filled with events to bring in the holiday season from the beginning of November all the way to the New Year. And The Montreal Beach Resort is still celebrating our 50th season!  It’s not too late to book a great deal on an ocean front room with one of our fun special package deals.   Come on down for a short (but sweet) getaway and enjoy the Holiday Happenings:

Fall Arts & Crafts Festival

At Cape May Convention Hall, take part in the town’s Fall Arts & Crafts Festival. On November 14th, celebrate the best of the autumn season before the official holiday festivities begin.

Holiday Preview Weekend in Cape May

From November 20 to 22, you can get a head start on your holiday celebrations. The Physick Estate will be completely decorated with endless lights and holiday trimmings. The Carroll Gallery exhibit, An Old-Fashioned Christmas: Holiday Traditions Through the Years, takes visitors back to past holidays with model trains and an old-time village beneath a giant Christmas tree. On Saturday, Santa himself will take part in the Tree-Lighting Ceremony, and the Physick House will be open from 6 to 8pm with free self-guided tours. Other activities include Santa’s Trolley Rides for kids, and Ghosts of Christmas Past Trolley Rides and Holiday Lights Trolley Rides for adult visitors.

A Cape May Christmas, 2015

Written by Marlena Lustik, this new family-friendly holiday production combines the stories of Saint Nicholas with Cape May’s own historic Captain Mey to tell the tale of Mr. and Mrs. Claus on a getaway to this seaside town. Opening night is November 27th.

The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus

L. Frank Baum, who wrote the The Wizard of Oz, was responsible for placing Santa Claus into a world of folklore and wonder. It is because of his book The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, that Santa is believed to have elves to assist him. At the East Lynne Theater Company, the story is displayed on stage as an adaptation and performance by Artistic Director Gayle Stahlhuth. The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus is a tale about Santa’s life from his early years to his role as one of the most important figures of one’s childhood.

If you want to celebrate the end of fall or even start preparing for Christmas cheer, there are endless activities to explore around town this year.
