The fishing in Cape May is heating up.  June is a great time of year for fishing here because there are so many types of fish swimming in both the bays and out in front of the beach.

Flounder season just kicked off and anglers are boating flatties up to 5-1/2 pounds.  There are still a good amount of short throwbacks but the action is pretty hot.  Flounder, also known as fluke, must be a minimum of 18″ in New Jersey this year and all fishermen are limited to 5 keepers per day.

Drum are plentiful this season with fish up to 50 lbs are being caught on charter boats departing from Cape May marinas.

Bluefish are percolating in the surf and fish up to 15 pounds have been caught.  There is no minimum size requirement for blues and a 15-fish limit per person per day.

Fishing in the surf cold turn up some sizable bluefish and striped bass.

Bring your tackle on your trip to Cape May.  Get a clean comfortable room at The Montreal Beach Resort.  The sand, surf and a fisherman’s bounty are right here waiting for you.  Marinas with party boats and charters await and can supply you with all the gear you need.
