Cape May is best-known for its incredible summers, but the fall is also a great time to visit. The weather is cooler and summer crowds fade away. It’s a great time to explore new areas, visit Cape May’s unique shops and restaurants, and enjoy local wineries.

Here are seven fun Cape May activities to do this fall.

Cape May Wineries

Spend a day in New Jersey wine country – right here in Cape May! Taste award-winning wines and enjoy the unique experiences each winery has to offer. October is harvest season, so it’s the perfect time to visit!

MAC Trolley Tours

Hop on one of MAC’s trolley tours – just minutes from our beachfront resort. MAC’s tour guides will tell you everything you need to know America’s first seaside resort. From Cape May’s Victorian heritage to its seashore and maritime history, these guides won’t leave anything out.

East Lynne Theater Company

Many are surprised to learn that Cape May is a mecca for theater lovers. East Lynn Theatre Company is one of several organizations bringing a blend of provocative premieres and timeless classics to the community. This award-winning equity professional theater is a must-not-miss on your next trip to Cape May.

Cape May Stage

Another outstanding theatre company, Cape May Stage, located in the heart of the Cape May’s historic district, continues its performance season through the fall with traditional, contemporary and new works. For years actors, directors, and playwrights from around the country have provided world-class theatre in this unique and historic venue.

Emlen Physick Estate

Visit the 1879 Emlen Physick Estate, Cape May, NJ’s only Victorian house museum, for a look at life as it was lived more than 100 years ago. This place is haunted so if that’s your thing you may want to try the Phantoms of the Physick Estate walking tour which focuses on the estate’s “spirited” residents.

Halloween Happenings

Cape May is one of the most haunted places in America and if you get a thrill from all things spooky, the Montreal Beach Resort in Cape May is the place for you! From the 1879 Emlen Physick Estate to a bevy of B&B inns, hotels and guest houses, all with resident spirits, you’ll find plenty to get your heart pumping.

Harry’s Weekly Specials

Harry’s is just steps away from our lovely seaside resort. In fact, some of you may have suites that open up right to the roof deck.

All through September, Harry’s offers special discounted prices on select menu items Monday through Wednesday, every week. On Mondays, enjoy ½ priced mussels and take $2 off all draft beer. Tuesday, try $5 New England clam chowder (one of our signature dishes) and $10 fish & chips. Plus, take $2 off all wines by the glass. On Wednesdays sip an orange, strawberry, mango, grapefruit or creamsicle crush for just $5 – made fresh every time. Pair your crush with hummus & pita for $5 or wings for $6. Plus, on Sunday and Eagles Gamedays enjoy $5 mini cheesesteaks, $6 wings, $7 fish tacos, $5 clam chowder, and $2.50 Miller Lite and Yuengling Drafts.
